Installing the early beta

This beta is not signed with an Apple Developer ID or notarized by Apple. macOS may block it from opening. Apple signing is planned for a later release.

Download only from liviutrifoi.com, open the disk image, and copy Liviu Automation to Applications. If macOS blocks it, contact Liviu with the exact message before continuing. Do not disable Gatekeeper or other system protections.

The beta has been tested on one Mac. Revit 2026 offers Viewer mode and Test This Mac. Revit 2027 has no Viewer mode: use your own Autodesk licence and try a disposable small model before relying on it for project work. Keep backups of your models.

Choose where Revit is installed

Before installing, click Install location… and choose a folder on this Mac or an external SSD formatted as APFS or Mac OS Extended. Revit and its setup files go in a Liviu Automation folder there. Existing installations are not moved. Keep an external drive connected while installing and using Revit; licence and trial records stay on this Mac.

Installer support-file errors

Update to the latest app and retry the original Autodesk installer. The app now checks the libraries that this installer actually needs. If a required file is absent, it names it: Installer support file missing: <filename>. Drop the original Autodesk Create Installer download to obtain complete media. If it still fails, choose Get Help → Send to Liviu; the attached diagnostic log includes the installer dependency details.

What changed in 0.8.12

Version 0.8.13: For Autodesk Direct Download, keep the matching _001_002.exe and _002_002.7z files in one folder. Drop either file, both together, or their folder into Liviu Automation. The .7z holds the complete media; wait for it to finish downloading. A missing archive must be downloaded from your Autodesk account.

You can also drop Autodesk's official Create Installer download into the app. It downloads the complete installer first, then continues setup. Revit 2026 and 2027 use the updated prerequisite preparation and observed component progress.

Revit 2027 is configured for architecture work. Assistant, Structure, Steel and structural analysis tools are disabled. Steel Connections is unavailable. Existing structural elements remain in models. Basic model opening, editing, saving and reopening were checked locally; all features and other Macs have not been verified.

Updating an existing installation

Save your work and close Revit. Replace Liviu Automation in Applications with this download, open the updated app, then drop your original Autodesk installer or complete installer folder into it again. When it detects the existing installation, it refreshes the compatibility components and Desktop launcher. Use that refreshed Revit Desktop icon afterward.

Autodesk setup stopped with code 3001

This means an Autodesk system-requirement precheck stopped setup. The number alone does not say which requirement failed. Open Liviu Automation 0.8.18 or later and choose Get Help → Send to Liviu. The attached diagnostic log includes selected Setup and DDA precheck details from the existing attempt; you do not need to reinstall just to collect them. Use Review Log before sending. Do not delete the failed installation environment before collecting the report.

Optional failure reports

Choose Share Reports in the app to send a limited failure summary to Liviu's support inbox. This is off by default and can be changed in the Automatic Failure Reports menu. Raw logs, model contents and licence keys are excluded. Delivery is best effort; Get Help in version 0.8.15 and later can send your message with a diagnostic log attached when you choose Send to Liviu.

Easier: in the app, choose Get Help… in the menu, or Get Help in the message that appears when something fails. In version 0.8.15 and later, enter your reply e-mail, describe the problem, and choose Send to Liviu. Your diagnostic log is included as a text attachment, even if you use Gmail in a browser. Review Log shows the attachment before sending. Personal paths, licence keys and sign-in tokens are filtered, but model file names may remain; no models are sent. The attachment also includes your system time-zone identifier, current UTC offset and abbreviation, selected Autodesk setup errors and precheck results, and fixed version/status messages from the temporary setup-checker log. Autodesk account and licence values and identity or licensing-agent logs are excluded. These details are not added to automatic failure summaries. If delivery fails, your local support ZIP remains available. Older versions open an e-mail draft and require you to attach the ZIP yourself.
